Saving our Planet
We only have one planet, so we all need to do our best to ensure we take care of it. This is why here at Valley Northern we offer such a wide range of sustainable alternatives for your pharmacy packaging.
And it doesn't stop there, as a company we also have made a wide range of adjustments to our practices in order to reduce our impact on the environment.
We understand the importance of energy conservation. As part of our commitment to reducing energy consumption, we have switched to using exclusively LED lights throughout our premises. By making this simple change, we are not only reducing our environmental impact but also saving the planet.
When it comes to selecting our suppliers, sustainability is a crucial factor in our decision-making process. We have made it a policy to only engage with suppliers who meet our stringent sustainability requirements. By partnering with eco-conscious suppliers, we ensure that our entire supply chain aligns with our commitment to environmental responsibility.
We firmly believe in the power of reforestation to combat deforestation and mitigate climate change. In collaboration with Ecologi, we actively contribute to reforestation projects worldwide. By funding these initiatives, we help restore critical ecosystems, sequester carbon dioxide, and promote biodiversity.
In today's digital age, reducing paper waste is a vital step towards environmental conservation. Over the past two years, we have successfully transitioned to paperless invoicing and statements, saving approximately 285 kilograms of paper. By embracing technology and encouraging digital communication, we aim to minimize our ecological footprint while streamlining our operations.
In our efforts to reduce waste, we have implemented a comprehensive pallet management system. Good quality wooden pallets are reused within our operations, extending their lifespan and minimizing the need for new ones. Any pallets that cannot be reused are sent for recycling, where they are converted into biofuels, contributing to a circular economy.
Recognizing the impact of plastic pollution, we have taken steps to make our packaging more sustainable. Our bubble wrap and pallet wrap are now 100% recyclable and contain 40% less plastic. Additionally, we prioritize the use of recycled content in a wide range of our products, reducing the demand for virgin materials.
To address the challenge of plastic waste management, we collaborate with our suppliers to incorporate recycled plastic into our ProPac bags. By utilizing recycled plastic from our trusted suppliers, we prevent it from ending up in landfills and contribute to a more circular plastic economy.
